Sponsorship Opportunities

January 2006

Dear Colleague:

I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to the BioScience Forum (BioSF), in case you have not yetmet us. The BioSF draws attendess from nearly 5,000 professionals from many local pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other life science institutions and companies. As we expand our efforts to build participation and support, we hope that your organization will take advantage of this valuable resource and become a corporate sponsor. Corporate sponsorship will connect you with a large number of individuals, institutions and companies in the life sciences fields.

The BioSF was founded in 1983 as the Northern California Pharmaceutical Discussion Group (NCPDG), and in 2002, the BioSF incorporated in California as a charitable organization. We have received tax exempt status from the State of California and the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization.

We hold monthly meetings on topics such as basic research, product development, clinical trials, regulatory affairs, and marketing. Invited speakers come from local institutions including the University of California Berkeley and San Francisco, BioCentury, Cytokinetics, Exelixis, Maxygen, Rigel, Stanford University and many others. We also have hosted speakers from the Food & Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health, US Patent and Trademark Office, consulting groups, and venture capital companies. Monthly meetings provide the opportunity to acquire new knowledge in the life sciences, develop relationships with others, and network with representatives of many institutions in the life sciences. To get to know us better, please join us at upcoming meetings and also visit our website at www.biosf.org. We also have hosted several special Symposia, including a clinical trials symposium held in January 2003 and a Drug Metabolism and Toxicology in Drug Discovery in 2002, 2003 and 2004. We also hosted USPTO Technology Center 1600 (Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals) in 2004 and 2005. This year, we hosted a Symposium on Predictive Drug Metabolism, Interaction and Induction. We are planning additional Symposia in the future.

Sponsorship of the BioScience Forum can provide your institution with name regognition and visibility among life seciences professionals and companys. The Benefits of sponsorship include name exposure at all events, acknowledgment on monthly program announcements, listing on our website as a Sponsor, and distribution of information about your organization to our members. We also will introduce you at an upcoming meeting so that our members can learn more about your organization. Please consider a minimum donation of $1,000. Currently, your donation may be deducted as a charitable donation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

We hope that you will support this valuable resource and benefit greatly in return. Please direct this letter to the appropriate person in your organization. Feel free to telephone us at (925) 395-2060 or e-mail us at admin@biosf.org should you have any questions. Thank you very much for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Sponsorship Committee
